OUR CLEARANCE RecyclING Policy

'One mans trash is another mans treasure'

We are proud of our recycling policy because we are the only local house clearance company to offer this guarantee to our clients : We will ALWAYS sort and distribute all usable good quality items removed from a clearance to maximise an items life cycle and reduce landfill waste.

On average we rehome at least 60% of the items we remove from a house clearance

Over the years we have built up a network of contacts who we pass items to for re-use, for example sewing machines, fishing rods, painting equipment, books and old tools to name just a few, and we donate the remaining usable items (clothes, bric-a-brac etc) to local charity shops, school / scout fairs etc, churches, Children's & Family Services, The Salvation Army, Naomi House, Winchester Cathedral Book Stall, local Foodbanks and Night Shelters.

We also welcome requests for any item, from anyone - If you are in need of anything, to sell to raise funds for good causes, or for you / your family / friends, please feel free to phone 07434 77 77 45, email free@alresfordhouseclearance.co.uk or for charity organisations to arrange a delivery of clothes / bric-a-brac email charity@alresfordhouseclearance.co.uk - we are happy to provide you with whatever we can from our clearances.

FREE FURNITURE - ALL DAY, EVERYDAY

Why do we do this?

As a professional, ethical and responsible business we use a commercial recycling centre to dispose of the items we remove that can not be reused, and this is chargeable to us. The less we tip, the less we are charged, which means we can pass on this cost saving to our clients. A WIN WIN for everyone

  • we keep your house clearance cost down

  • we reduce fuel emissions because we do less trips to the recycling centre

  • by extending a usable items life it's better for the environment

  • benefits others from charity shop sales / donations to shelters etc
